Sadness hits me as I post this post. It's our last Flutter By Wednesday post. I've had a blast being on the design team and playing along with Danni's challenges. Undoubtedly, my supplies of butterflies, fairies and angels have increased due to this blog! I will miss it, posting weekly for it, seeing all the creations that would come in from the fans participating and the other design members!
Today's one of my favorite types of challenges at Flutter By Wednesday. We have a sketch challenge! And its' a fantastic sketch! It's provided by Deconstructed Sketches. I used an image sent to me from Tammi. Darling little fairy is from Lili Of the Valley. I had a blast coloring her up, thank you, Tammi!Annahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08591606334099959870noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-183448498369335093.post-45113925757591994972012-04-24T09:30:00.000-04:002012-04-24T09:30:01.549-04:00Gabi's Scrapbook Pages

Catching up on some scrapbook pages. This was Gabi's first day of 6th grade. I felt this was too primary in colors after I finished with her page, but drew from the colors in her backpack. She was also wearing clothes that didn't enable me to draw from it.

I had a pack of paper from The Angel Company and it went perfectly with her backpack. I was even lucky enough to have one of the small mini-scrapbook kits still on hand, which allowed me to cut out more shapes from my Cricut Cartridge Locker Talk. It was nice because the kit had the little tags with it, and I wrote down each of her teacher's and their subjects on the tags.
Gabi has really gotten in to drawing and art this year. So, my main focus on her accents on this page were art supplies. All of which were found on the Locker Talk cartridge. Kyle told me he thought the computer was the coolest part. Coming from a 10 year old boy, I think that's a serious compliment!
My sketch was from Jeanette Lynton's book. I don't think I ever make a scrapbook page without her book and sketches.
I went to make my card, and I swear, it died by Copics! So, I gave up, because it just wasn't working. Meant to come back and finish, or at least post about the challenge. So, big apologies to my team mates at Flutter By Wednesday!
I do have a question if any of you copic pros can give me a tip...I refill my markers, and sometime, they drip. Drives me batty. I can't get them not too. What am I doing wrong, and what can I do to get them to stop blobbing?

Anyhow, this week, we are casing the very first ever Flutter By Wednesday card. I have to admit, there's no stamping on my card. I couldn't find my big butterfly stamp to save my life...see how well crafting is working for me?! Anyhow, so I used a sticker I had that I thought worked perfectly for this challenge. Please be sure to peak at the Flutter By Wednesday blog for more details, and to see what the team made for the challenge. I also think Danni has a little announcement to make. So pop over, and make sure you link your creation as well! Some darling stamps over there. I inked up Sunflower Charlotte. Sunflowers and Charlotte make me think of Kim from Sunshiny Days. Her little one is getting so big! I miss seeing her cards though! Back to my card. I always get a little nervous when we have a sponsor and I want to make sure I showcase their product just right. I hope she likes what I've done with her image. I had a blast coloring it! I used a pack of paper from The Angel Company, which is no longer in business. I thought the paper colors went perfectly with Charlotte!
This is of Trey's first day of 4th grade. I normally wouldn't go so um....well freakish on a page not for Halloween, but the thing that stood out to me the most was his t-shirt. From there a theme was made for this page. I smudged ink all over the skulls, and I think I did good replicating the t-shirt. I used my cricut, and Indie Art to cut out my skulls. They even layered up for me. I used Locker Talk for the fourth grade sentiment. The paper pack I found on clearance at Michael's, and it had the lined paper in it. Perfect for his page. Trey's nine now, and wanting his hair longer. He so needs a haircut in this photo! He does have good hair! Wish I had it, thick and a slight wavy.
I followed a sketch out of Jeanette Lynton's book, Cherish, I heart her sketch books. There's more information about this on the Flutter By Wednesday blog. I had already made my card before knowing the full details behind Butterfly kisses.

I fell in love with this set from Verve Stamps, Blue Skies. I love the sentiments that are with this set. I know with my trials for my family the last two years, I found the words to be very truthful. Sometimes life is hard to get up and dust yourself off. You might not feel brave going about your struggles, but honestly, sometimes just getting out of bed is a very brave thing to do! (Coarse, if you're really down in the dumps, you might look a little scary too! LOL!)

Be sure to stop by the Flutter By Wednesday blog to see what else the design team members made. It's always worth the trip, talented ladies over there! Be sure to link your creation after you've created it as well! Thanks for stopping by!
You can read more about it on the Flutter By Wednesday blog. Than to joining in that effort, we are challenging you to make a card for a child this week. Don't forget your butterfly, fairy or angel on your card! I thought of my little Gabi when I made my card this week. She's not so little any more. Just about as tall as momma, and still pains me to say she's not into pink any more. she doesn't take dance any more either....lives on Facebook instead. Mercy, time does fly! But in my heart she's still my little five year old who love pink, glitter and wants to be a ballerina! So, my card is totally made with those things in mind.
This sweet image is from DigiDarla, it was a freebee a while back, and I can't seem to find the direct link to put here. She was fun to color, and thought it was perfect for this week's challenge! I went a little heavy on the stickles, because what little girl doesn't love glitter?!
Does it seem like weeks just fly by, or is it just me? Time to flutter over to flutter By Wednesday. This week we have the challenge of spring with either a butterfly, angel or fairy on your card. We have a wonderful sponsor as well, Robin's Fetish. They have a challenge blog you can find here. I colored in cutie Babette the bunny. She's perfect for spring time, isn't she? Reminded me of Easter growing up. My mom must have kept us stocked with coloring books. And this seems like a perfect Easter bunny! Can't wait to see what you all come up with for the theme. Don't forget the fairy, angel or butterfly. Isn't this a beautiful set of flowers? Love all the pink! Made me think of weddings and valentine's Day. What about you?
Don't forget your butterfly, fairy or angel! I didn't forget mine this week! LOL! I colored my sweet image sent to me by a friend with pink pulling in from the lovely photo. I had a blast coloring little Tilda in! What's more than giving her pink, and bling? I followed the sketch 253 over at CPS. I flipped it, as it worked better for my card. Please note, this is for this weeks challenge only! My project is what I gave my mom for Christmas this year. My mom loves birds. She breeds them. Has little a nursery set up and everything. A couple bigger birds in huge cages in her den, I can tell you their names, but not breeds, one is Puff, he's white. I tried to teach him the word Dude when I was in town last time. She's got a BIG parrot named George, he's blue and green. At least I think he's a parrot!

I used my Serenade Cricut cartridge cut out the bird cage first on a cereal box, at 9.75 inches than again with the pattern paper. I modge podged them together, So nice to have the Cricut cut things out perfectly for layering reason, added some sweet gems, and dusted with ink to the edges of the papers. Than I cut out the bird the same way. The family was cut from a different cartridge in vinyl.

So, for this weeks challenge ONLY you get to use anything with wings! We look forward to seeing what you all make! Make sure you like it back to the Flutter By Wednesday blog! See what the other designers came up with while you're linking up your creation! She did the report on the "Guardians Of Gahool". Good books, if you haven't read them them, or if your kids haven't. She enjoyed the book, and read the next one right away. (Tip...I pulled out the sticks from the vinyl packages for the cricut.) I borrowed the Create a Critter cartridge from my neighbor. From there I cut out the same image four times, layered it up each time as well. I tried to shape the owls different, since they were all different in the story. She directed me on what color card stocks to use. She added touches for the wings using white ink pen, stickles, shimmerz, and such to add more depth and differences to her creations. Always amazes me what the cricut can be used for, and love that she went in feeling like a rock star with her little owl puppets.
Annahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08591606334099959870noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-183448498369335093.post-7182883562026006842012-01-18T02:13:00.001-05:002012-01-18T02:13:00.253-05:00Flutter By Wednesday 186, Open Challenge

<div style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;"> It's an open challenge at Flutter By Wednesday this week. I finally got around to repainting the wall on the backside of the bonus room where my crafting area is, and this project has been put on hold until I found the right paint. When I say found the right paint, I mean the discounted paint returned by someone on Lowes. It's generally 75% off, and I love the price I can get the paint for. But finding the right color isn't always quick, and I stalk that shelf of paint finding colors that will work in my home. I walked in though once after being at Lowes the day before, and there was a fun color of purple that wasn't there the day before! I'm in love with the color! For 10 bucks for a gallon of paint, can't beat it!
I cut out some vinyl to them labeling them. Cuteness right?
<div style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">
I envisioned the flat little baskets to hold buttons. Perfect for the PTI button jars! They were in the kitchen area, and dirt cheap at Ikea. I was pleased as punch last night as I was putting up the stuff, and seeing it come together so nicely.

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">I finished off by adding the create letters I decorated with retired TAC Maggie paper. I used prima flowers, stickles, ribbons, and buttons on them. They are so girly! Love them! I added a few floating butterflies around the room, and one to my letter A. The R is hard to see the pretty prima swirl of pearls on it. Was a nice touch to add with some fun colored prima flowers.

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;"> I'm so tickled with how the space turned out. Took me wall weekend to get it done, but the end result is perfect for my space! Sweet Tammi sent some images to me, and I couldn't wait to color her up. I used some Basic Grey papers I've been hording, and added some stickles to the sweet cake! That looks like a cake I would end up making, lopsided, and dripping with sweet icing! Today's challenge at Flutter By Wednesday is to use bright colors, and say bye bye to the winter blues! I don't know about y'alls neck of the woods, but here in the Hampton Roads area, we have been way warm! Feels more like spring than winter out there lately! I'm enjoying it, but I do like my winters. Anyhow, make sure you link your creation to the Flutter By Wednesday blog! Thanks for stopping by! Her name is Bailey, so I called it The Bailey Daily. I loved how it turned out.

I found the chalk board at Target on clearance from St. Patrick's Day a few years back. I spray painted it first, since it was bright green. Than modge podged it with paper. Topped off with a few flowers, and the title.

I used that cute font Too Much Paper that I made the name frames with, darling font! I think I used that font a ton this holiday season for stuff. I think I like that it's a nice solid shape, and it uses paper! Gotta love using paper up when you hoard it as much as I do.

I used a pack of 12x24 inch paper that I found at Joann's ages ago by Die Cuts With A Few. The out lining part of the chalk board was larger than 12 inches wide. Made it easier to fill in the top part of the frame. The paper bubbled a little, it's kinda glossy.
I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas! Will catch up on blogs, because finally done with the holiday business! Haven't had time to post to show what I've been up too. Here's a peak at a few of the projects I have been working non-stop on. I made name frames for the kids teachers and friends/family. I loved how they turned out, but man, they did take some time. I used my Sure Cuts A Lot program, and cut out my favorite new font, Too Much Paper from Kevin and Amanda. I simply fell in love with it, and was so happy with how my little projects turned out. I found a tip on line somewhere, can't remember where to give credit, that used cereal boxes for chipboard. I went and grabbed all my cereal boxes and cut out the letters first from them, and than modgepodged the pattern paper over the cereal boxes. It worked out perfectly with the Cricut.
Another thing I did to add a little special touch was to frost the glass with family on it. I cut out vinyl, used the negative image, adhered it to the glass, and put the etching cream over it. I used the actual part for a two other frames, when I had run out time to cut more vinyl negative sections, and time to etch them. So many steps in the projects, but I did love my finished work. The Family was a soft effect, which was what I was after. I thought I had more photos of the ones with the etched glass, but can't seem to locate them. I will have to snap a photo of the one I made for my neighbors.
Great thing about this gift was it was personalized for each person, inexpensive to make, since I had all the paper supplies on hand already, and they turned out so nicely. I found the frames at Walmart. They had a few different styles in that size frame.Annahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08591606334099959870noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-183448498369335093.post-22565973328074604142011-11-30T02:10:00.001-05:002011-11-30T02:10:00.176-05:00Flutter By Wednesday 181, Flowery Lacey Blues.

Ok, this was a hard challenge for me from Danni at Flutter By Wednesday! Blue, white, lace and three flowers....I forgot about the flowers until after I added my little snowflakes. Doh! I don't use blue a lot! I couldn't find the right shade of cardstock for my blue pattern paper. I thought I had a good place for my lace. I thought I had it all together in my head, but honestly not sure how I feel about it. I love how my little angel turned out. She's so pretty, isn't she? I think I don't dig my layout. I thought the lacy would look so pretty above and below, and well...I just don't know. LOL! Anyhow, that's what challenges are for, right? To stretch you? Showing off even my blundering mistakes. I might have to try this challenge again, because shoot, I hate getting beat by a challenge! I'm sure the rest of the design team will have something that knock your socks off! So make sure you stop by the Flutter By Wednesday blog to see what they all created!Annahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08591606334099959870noreply@blogger.com7tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-183448498369335093.post-75584926670797698452011-11-23T01:56:00.011-05:002011-11-23T01:56:00.538-05:00Flutter By Wednesday 181, Paper Pretties.

Today we have a fabulous sponsor at Flutter By Wednesday, Paper Pretties. I have to say, I've loved this image of Sophia for the longest time, and so glad I was able to play with her. I wanted to make her skirt look shimmery and see through on her, not sure if that shows through the photograph. I've seen so many people do such an amazing job on coloring her. I used a sentiment from a retired SU set and stamped the butterfly from Verve stamps over it. My little ballerina is topped off with stickles, and smooch. Thanks for stopping by, and be sure to see what the other Flutter By Wednesday designers came up with today! She's gonna be 12 later this month, and gasp....NO PINK! Okay, seriously, the child has loved pink since she was a toddler! Can we say Momma is having a hard time with her out growing pink!

I tried to make something a little more sassy and grown up. I have to say Forever Young is by far one of my favorite cartridges. I cut out my ladies at 3 inches. I cut out a tag off a different cartridge, Bags, Tags and More. They were cut at 4 inches. I layered my clothing up with the layer feature. Let me tell you, those were some tiny pieces. Than I shadowed the girls, and the sentiment which was also off Forever Young.

I made them into bookmarks, and cut another tag out, which I added the birthday invite stuff to. This way the girls could use the bookmark and the invite was still functional for them. I even laminated them using My Story kit that I have and haven't used. All in all, I think the invites are sassy! Gabi seemed impressed, and hopefully her friends were too!

Be sure to see what the other design team members came up by peaking at the Flutter By Wednesday blog.Annahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08591606334099959870noreply@blogger.com7tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-183448498369335093.post-23376956421026915402011-11-09T02:03:00.007-05:002011-11-09T19:37:50.517-05:00Flutter By Wednesday 179, Friendship.

Not sure what happened here...I had it scheduled to post at 2 AM on 11-9-11...and it didn't post.
