I know that title will make no sense to the masses, but it reminded of something my 12 year daughter is always saying, "Like a boss". I have no idea where she got it from, but she says it all the time. So, it just hit me when I started typing thinking of our challenge today! Today's challenge at Flutter By Wednesday is to emboss. Don't forget your butterfly, fairy and angel! So go emboss like a boss! LOL!

Today's card is so pretty, yes? I have been watching videos at Color Me Copic. Such talented ladies over there sharing their tips and tidbits. One of my personal favorites is Amy from A Thousand Sheets Of Paper. Trying her tips on hair today. I also followed the sketch from Sketch Saturday. Chirping Owls. Using the Cricut for school.

Gabi had a book report due and had to have visual aids a few months back. She did the report on the "Guardians Of Gahool". Good books, if you haven't read them them, or if your kids haven't. She enjoyed the book, and read the next one right away. In order to get her visual aids I pulled out my cricut,

We felt like Popsicle sticks would be perfect for making hand puppets of the main characters. (Tip...I pulled out the sticks from the vinyl packages for the cricut.) I borrowed the Create a Critter cartridge from my neighbor. From there I cut out the same image four times, layered it up each time as well. I tried to shape the owls different, since they were all different in the story. She directed me on what color card stocks to use. She added touches for the wings using white ink pen, stickles, shimmerz, and such to add more depth and differences to her creations. Always amazes me what the cricut can be used for, and love that she went in feeling like a rock star with her little owl puppets.

For my creation today, I finally decorated some letters I've had for my craft space. I finally got around to repainting the wall on the backside of the bonus room where my crafting area is, and this project has been put on hold until I found the right paint. When I say found the right paint, I mean the discounted paint returned by someone on Lowes. It's generally 75% off, and I love the price I can get the paint for. But finding the right color isn't always quick, and I stalk that shelf of paint finding colors that will work in my home. I walked in though once after being at Lowes the day before, and there was a fun color of purple that wasn't there the day before! I'm in love with the color! For 10 bucks for a gallon of paint, can't beat it!

I have to show off a few other things I'm pleased with that where finished up when I got the painting done...I had found this rack holder thing at Ikea in Atlanta over a year ago. I thought the little cups that fit on it where perfect for the kids. I Had pictured putting them in their rooms, but things changed and they ended up in the bonus room. I cut out some vinyl to them labeling them. Cuteness right?

I grabbed the two purple ones for me, and put them on the racks I had gotten myself. I envisioned the flat little baskets to hold buttons. Perfect for the PTI button jars! They were in the kitchen area, and dirt cheap at Ikea. I was pleased as punch last night as I was putting up the stuff, and seeing it come together so nicely.

I finished off by adding the create letters I decorated with retired TAC Maggie paper. I used prima flowers, stickles, ribbons, and buttons on them. They are so girly! Love them! I added a few floating butterflies around the room, and one to my letter A. The R is hard to see the pretty prima swirl of pearls on it. Was a nice touch to add with some fun colored prima flowers.

I'm so tickled with how the space turned out. Took me wall weekend to get it done, but the end result is perfect for my space! Just excited to have done it all myself!

How freaking cute is this image? Sweet Tammi sent some images to me, and I couldn't wait to color her up. I used some Basic Grey papers I've been hording, and added some stickles to the sweet cake! That looks like a cake I would end up making, lopsided, and dripping with sweet icing! Today's challenge at Flutter By Wednesday is to use bright colors, and say bye bye to the winter blues! I don't know about y'alls neck of the woods, but here in the Hampton Roads area, we have been way warm! Feels more like spring than winter out there lately! I'm enjoying it, but I do like my winters. The Bailey Daily

I made a cute chalk board for Gabi's teacher. Her name is Bailey, so I called it The Bailey Daily. I loved how it turned out.

I found the chalk board at Target on clearance from St. Patrick's Day a few years back. I spray painted it first, since it was bright green. Than modge podged it with paper. Topped off with a few flowers, and the title.

I used that cute font Too Much Paper that I made the name frames with, darling font! I think I used that font a ton this holiday season for stuff. I think I like that it's a nice solid shape, and it uses paper! Gotta love using paper up when you hoard it as much as I do.

I used a pack of 12x24 inch paper that I found at Joann's ages ago by Die Cuts With A Few. The out lining part of the chalk board was larger than 12 inches wide. Made it easier to fill in the top part of the frame. The paper bubbled a little, it's kinda glossy.

Christmas Cricut Gifts

I have been so busy crafting this Christmas. I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas! Will catch up on blogs, because finally done with the holiday business! Haven't had time to post to show what I've been up too. Here's a peak at a few of the projects I have been working non-stop on. I made name frames for the kids teachers and friends/family. I loved how they turned out, but man, they did take some time. I used my Sure Cuts A Lot program, and cut out my favorite new font, Too Much Paper from Kevin and Amanda. I simply fell in love with it, and was so happy with how my little projects turned out. I found a tip on line somewhere, can't remember where to give credit, that used cereal boxes for chipboard. I went and grabbed all my cereal boxes and cut out the letters first from them, and than modgepodged the pattern paper over the cereal boxes. It worked out perfectly with the Cricut.

Another thing I did to add a little special touch was to frost the glass with family on it. I cut out vinyl, used the negative image, adhered it to the glass, and put the etching cream over it. I used the actual part for a two other frames, when I had run out time to cut more vinyl negative sections, and time to etch them. So many steps in the projects, but I did love my finished work. The Family was a soft effect, which was what I was after. I thought I had more photos of the ones with the etched glass, but can't seem to locate them. I will have to snap a photo of the one I made for my neighbors.

Great thing about this gift was it was personalized for each person, inexpensive to make, since I had all the paper supplies on hand already, and they turned out so nicely. I found the frames at Walmart. They had a few different styles in that size frame.

Ok, this was a hard challenge for me from Danni at Flutter By Wednesday! Blue, white, lace and three flowers....I forgot about the flowers until after I added my little snowflakes. Doh! I don't use blue a lot! I couldn't find the right shade of cardstock for my blue pattern paper. I thought I had a good place for my lace. I thought I had it all together in my head, but honestly not sure how I feel about it. I love how my little angel turned out. She's so pretty, isn't she? I think I don't dig my layout. I thought the lacy would look so pretty above and below, and well...I just don't know. LOL! Anyhow, that's what challenges are for, right? To stretch you? Showing off even my blundering mistakes. I might have to try this challenge again, because shoot, I hate getting beat by a challenge! I'm sure the rest of the design team will have something that knock your socks off! You know you're limited on crafting time, when you're thinking challenges on all your projects! I hope you can see my itty bitty butterflies on here.

Today's project for me was my daughter's birthday invite this year. She's gonna be 12 later this month, and gasp....NO PINK! Okay, seriously, the child has loved pink since she was a toddler! Can we say Momma is having a hard time with her out growing pink!

I tried to make something a little more sassy and grown up. I have to say Forever Young is by far one of my favorite cartridges. I cut out my ladies at 3 inches. I cut out a tag off a different cartridge, Bags, Tags and More. They were cut at 4 inches. I layered my clothing up with the layer feature. Let me tell you, those were some tiny pieces. Than I shadowed the girls, and the sentiment which was also off Forever Young.

I made them into bookmarks, and cut another tag out, which I added the birthday invite stuff to. This way the girls could use the bookmark and the invite was still functional for them. I even laminated them using My Story kit that I have and haven't used. All in all, I think the invites are sassy! Gabi seemed impressed, and hopefully her friends were too!

Flutter By Wednesday, Bring out your Halloween cheer!

Today at Flutter By Wednesday, you have a color challenge! Green, Purple, Black and Orange! Okay, I didn't get enough green in my card! Hardly any green at all in fact. I was using scraps already cut and most where orange, purple and black. So, I went with it. I had also started coloring this image during Irene a few months back, and she had yellow hair, and purple dress. I filled in my flower, and ended up with a lot of orange! I messed up my poor face when dot her eyes with my sharpie paint pen. That's twice that's happened to me lately, and so not cool. Anyone else have this happen to them? Tips on how to make the paint stop plopping on my cards? Nothing worse than it dropping at the end of the completed card, and it messing up the main part of the card. I had to restamp, than color a face, and cut it out to make up for the mistake.
I followed the sketch over at The Sweet Stop. This is sketch 131. I've rotated it to fit my image better.

How fun has this month been?! Danni's had a lot of wonderful giveaways for her birthday month long celebration at Flutter By Wednesday, hasn't she? I've had this Mariposa paper from DCWV for too long. I think it's so pretty, I don't like to use it. This particular sheet I think is way too pretty to cut up. I mean, the design just lends itself to getting smacked on a piece of cardstock and calling it a day. But that just wouldn't be any fun! I did trim the paper, but decided I wanted to let the pretty design show off. I simply colored my sweet image from The Greeting Farm, and placed her off a little on the card. I did layer the pattern paper on some cardstock, but outside of my image, and flowers, my card is one layer on top. I haven't done that in a long time! But with paper as pretty as this, how can you cut it up?!

Flutter By Wednesday 169, Celebrate!

Ya know what's a wonderful way to spend time when a hurricane is blowing by? Coloring images! Pulled out my stash of images sent to me from sweet friends, and my copics. Sat and colored while the kids were playing Hilarium, which they loved. (Although, they played more like charades, because the rules were missing, and my teacher friend came up with a plan b.) I colored in several images before the power went back out. I was thinking of Gabi when I colored her-look, pink hair! She was impressed! So hard for me to color outside of natural hair colors!
Today's challenge at Flutter By Wednesday is the theme of celebrate. I decided to celebrate pink in this card! Is that allowed?! LOL! I used a sentiment which I thought went perfect with my image and can be used for a birthday. I think I'm getting closer to theme! Looking forward to what you create! Be sure to link your card back up at the Flutter By Wednesday blog so we can take a peak at your work! I followed sketch 69 at Sketch and Stash. I love how I added the bling on her dress and wings. I covered them with smooch, and added dabs of stickles to her wings. The dress I feathered the smooch down her dress, and to the top bodice. Than I added dabs of stickles to the eyelet area above her knees. Looks so pretty in person!

Perfect colors for me, and for summer time fun! My cute image is from All That's Scraps. I have been neglecting her, and had to drag her out for my card. Her curls are so stinking cute!

Flutter By Wednesday,165, Sketch By Danni.

Whew, what a week! Will get into that more after my Flutter By Wednesday creation. Today we have a great sketch by Danni. Perfect jumping point for your FBW creation! Be sure to link it back up to the FBW blog, and take a peak at what the other design team members did for their card using her sketch.

I turned mine, as it fit my image better. My image is from either Tammi, or Debbie. My brain is fried at the moment, so I can't remember who sent it. ( Brain fart, ya know what I mean?!) Anyhow, she was adorable and so fun to color! I used an old paper pack I got at Michaels. Colored her in with copics, and topped her with stickles.

On to why my brain is fried, outside of the fun heat we are enjoying! I started a full time job about 2 weeks ago. Working for a State Farm agent. Well, I had to get licensed to sell or discuss the insurance with clients, so I had to do some crazy studing on that. Turned my brain to mush! But I'm pleased to say I passed my test this morning! So, now I can get my license to deal with all those fun questions dealing with insurance!

Now, go get stamping, and make something with that fantastic sketch!

Flutter By Wednesday #164, Stripes!

Today's challenge at Flutter By Wednesday is to use stripes! Easy, right? So many cool pattern papers full of stripes! My sweet Magnolia is colored with copics, and topped off with stickles. I used Martha's punch to add my butterflies...which I forgot the first go around, and realized it after I had taken the photo. Thank goodness for those punches! I followed a sketch, but not finding the blog for it. My picture shows it's Sunday Sketch 621, not sure if the 621 is a date or a number, and my computer isn't pulling up the right links.

We went strawberry picking again this past May. We went Memorial day, and discovered that it wasn't a good idea to go so late in the seasons. There where barely any berries to be found. The kids were super hot, so they weren't excited about being out there, and to barely find berries in the rows and rows of plants added to their misery! The homemade ice cream did help improve their attitudes, but I made a mental note to make sure to drag them out that way in early May!

I found the strawberry svg file on SVGCuts blog. They have cool freebies once a week, as well as a free file with purchase. I than embossed the berries with the polka dot folder. I dusted the edges with Canvas Palette ink. The stems are dotted with my sharpie white pen. I cut the strawberries at 1, 1.25, 1.50, and 1.75 inches. That gave me a nice variety of berries to play with. My paper is from DCWV, it's a glitter stack from last summer. I used Sure Cuts A Lot to create my title. I cut it out and than made the shadow behind it. That's a cool feature on it. You can even make the shadows larger around your image. I plan on tweaking with that some when I do a page for Trey's baseball stuff.

Sadly, you can't purchase Sure Cuts A Lot to use with a Cricut any more, as they lost a trade mark lawsuit with ProvoCraft. It does work with several other personal cutters, so if you have one of them, I highly recommend the Sure Cuts A Lot software. I have found it to be very handy to have, and am glad I had purchased it forever ago! My sketch is from Jeanette Lynton books. You'll know I always say how much I love those books!

Today I decided to show a scrapbook page that I made recently. I used my cricut to cut out the trees, leaves and butterflies. My butterflies and trees are from the Serenade cartridge. They were cut out to three inches, and layered up. Hard to see in the photo, but I used the white sharpie pen to add some dots to them. I added some smaller butterflies with the Martha butterfly punches. I used a DCWV paper pack, which was double sided. Love those packs like that, because I can use one sheet and get twice the patterns on items. These photos are of the kids, taken at a local state park on the James River on Memorial Day.

How nice is this photo to pull inspiration from today? Danni found a beautiful photograph!

I loved the peaks of the blue/purples of the grapes, surrounded by the warm tones in the flowers and trees. I kept my colors to yellows and orange. But have some blue peaking out on sweet little Willow. I followed a sketch from The Sweet Stop, this is sketch 100. Momma Bragging Moment!

Okay, so my youngest turned 9 yesterday! Yikes!

Where does time go?! Lately mine has been going to the ball fields. Trey made it on the Smithfield All Stars this year in coach pitch little league, and they are rocking it out! They played in a tournament this weekend, came in second yesterday. Two weekends ago they played against 23 teams in a tournament, and came in first place! You can read an article about it here! Trey is the first boy on the left in the second row! This was the trophy for the whole team for getting first place two weeks ago. I have never jumped up and down so much! We were so excited about their win, and were excited to know they got second, but for them to win two games against the number one team take first place was unbelievable! I swear, those little boys amaze me with the plays they make!

Because they came in first they get to go to NC for a Super Regional tournament! How exciting is that?! I hope they play well, but either way, something to be super proud of years from now!

Okay, I don't often walk around being shocked at something I've made. I'm pretty pleased generally, but things don't always turn out past my expectations when I'm paper crafting! This page makes me go DANG! I DID THAT!

The parts that impress me are my little banners.

I love those boxy banners at Paper Trey Ink. Went searching through all my Cricut cartridges to see if I have something in there that was like them. Looked to see if there was something in a cartridge my nieghbor might have in her stash. Nope, nothing like the shape they have in their dies....bummer, right?

Nope! I sat down for too long, and worked it out on my Sure Cuts A Lot. I put triangles together with a square and worked some magic with them, lined up the edges, and making parts disappear to make it one shape. Created them myself, I'm so proud of myself! And I saved them, so that means I can make them larger or smaller, or whatever when I want too!

Than I played around with the Gypsy last night and layered up my letters on Winter Woodlands. The font was perfect for a winter themed page. And layering is a breeze with the Gypsy. I added the letters to the banner and cut out some snowflakes from Nesties dies, and Cuttlebug die cuts. Added some scrappers floss, Martha Twine, and gems to bling them up a bit. Perfect touch on my page...at least I think so!

Catching up on some scrapbooking. Kids being out of school allows more time to catch up on stuff. Not the house cleaning, though. I swear, you clean, they trash just as quickly! This page was a ton of fun to make. I used Stretch Your Imagination Cricut Cartridge, and Winter Woodlands Cricut Cartridge. My extra long bunny was cut out with white cardstock, than I layered the eggs/brush in pink pattern paper, added shimmers chalk an stickles to the other eggs to resemble Easter Eggs. My little white bunnies are from Winter Woodland, and they are also cut in layers. I dusted the edges of his hind legs, and face with blush blossom, added shimmer chalk, and stickles to give some extra depth to it. My title is from Stretch Your Imagination, and cut in layers and blackout to ground it more on my page. Here's a closer shot of the long rabbit, and my cute little white rabbit.

Ok, I'm a few hours late on this! I swear, I have no brain! I somehow forgot the end of June for Flutter By Wednesday challenges when I was working on my challenges! Lucky for me, I had made this card already, and not posted it! LOL! I mean, you all will get a kick out of this, I had even wondered when I was working on July challenges, why we didn't have a challenge 160, I had 161, but not 160. Wondered why, and than figured it was because we took the short break last week.....but nope, Danni is much smarter than me! LOL! She had challenge 160, I didn't!
Goodness, my brain is so out there lately! I can't tell you all how many times I've double booked myself, forgotten I told someone I'd do something, to get reminded by them, and have no idea what they're talking about! Than, remember hours later, oh, I did say that to them!

A Few Firsts!

I love how this card turned out! I made it for a special friend, for Father's Day. Now, for some personal crud.....I've kept some of my personal life from my blog, because well....this is a happy place for me. Some of you know I've had a rough last two years. Started with my marriage falling apart two December's ago, topped off with the betrayals that threw me into a dark place that took time to heal from in '10. I haven't talked about any of that on here. This is my space, place where I can express myself in a positive way, and the situation with my family has been very public in my community. My blog was my escape from that, and all that went with it. Bringing this up now, because things change, and there's gonna be some new names popping on here.

A couple months ago, God brought someone new into my life, and flipped me upside down again. Went on a date....a first after 16 years.....gosh, scary, right?! Anyhow, he's been so super sweet to me, and I feel totally blessed to have him in my life. One day I'll have to share the story of milkduds! He's a dad of two kids, both are about 6 months older than Gabi, and Trey. He's got a daughter, Sophia, and son, Kyle. Sophia has been introduced to stamping thru me, and has made some cards, so I'm gonna have to show them off. But we've spent a lot of time together with the kids and without when we can escape all of them! This was his Father's Day card from me. I've never done black and white...but so pleased with this card. It's even got a touch of bling on the airplanes!

My second card is Sophia's card to her Dad. We used a TAC set for it, because she said it looked like her dad. He's lost some hair! LOL! She loved the rainbow, which was also an image from Tammi. And we cut out extra clouds from felt with PTI's cloud die.

Baby Carriages.

I've been so busy, and slacking on my blog posting! I can't keep up with everything! The kids are out of school now, so had some free time to get some posts done. This was a fun project I wanted to show off real quickly. We have a friend who is having a baby girl in a month or two. She had her last son over 7 years ago, so not stocked on baby stuff, right? And she has two sons, so a girl will be entirely different all together! We came up with a fun theme for her, based on some teasing. It's a funny story, and I have to share, because it makes the buggies that much funnier!

A few months back, my sweet friend having the baby turns beat red at the smallest thing, was telling me she had an appt to go too. I was inquiring where she was going, ya know, she's pregnant, maybe up for a monthly check up. I didn't honestly think anything of this, and she wouldn't offer up the information easily. So, I continued, cuz I'm a pill like that. Finally, she spilled it that she was going to a new person to have her underarms waxed. Ok, um, OUCH! Anyhow, that took me to a whole different location on the body. I had recently watched the Bachlor, where Brad was meeting a Manscaper...ya know waxes male body parts, so anyhow she used the term undercarriage. Well, that made me giggle. Than I heard the term somewhere else, and had to tell her this story.

Now, please picture that we are at a big double table, in the PTA room at our local school surrounded by about 6 ladies. So, when I say the term undercarriage, this makes my poor friend turn beat red. Makes me laugh. So, I would say it to her whenever I could, and would do so often. I'd text it to her, say it as I walked by...it became a big running joke between the moms, and their spouses.

Flash forward a few weeks later, a friend asked how my undercarriage was, and had taken a sip of sode. I replied bushy, which she wasn't expecting and had to spit out her drink!

All that to say, naturally, we knew our theme as soon as as we decided we wanted to give her a surprise shower! And yes, I pointed out, do you see the theme here when she arrived. She said I see a lot of baby carriages...yes, my sweet friend...carriages?! And red, flushed face soon followed! I love my friends!

Anyhow, those of you with die cutting machines at home, it's amazing what's out there for you to create! The invitations were made from Stretch Your Imagination. I cut the carriage from My Time Made Easy's Bouncing Baby Buggy. We used these as center pieces, and filled with different candies. But a perfect little touch for a baby shower.

Sorta missed some of the mark on this challenge for Flutter By Wednesday! Got so excited coloring my pretty image, I forgot about the added challenge of polka dots. I would have used more polka dotted paper had I paid better attention! My prima flowers are embossed dotted, used a dotted ribbon, and one layer of pattern paper has polka dots. Have to say, I simply adore this Sweet Pea image. She's so stinking pretty, and so much fun to color! I watched a Tinkerbelle movie a few months back, and was inspired by the clear wings. Tried to make the wings clear with vellum paper. Didn't turn out exactly how I wanted but am happy with it over it all. I hope you play along with us at Flutter By Wednesday! Cricut Wedding Projects.

I was working on a big project for my niece's wedding. She was married last weekend, the Sat. before mother's day. She was a stunning bride!

I helped her make some of the wedding decorations with my cricut. I showed off her lollipops in this post. Wanted to show off a few other things I helped with, that used the cricut and vinyl.

She needed directional signs, so she sent me the dimension of the signs, and I designed them in Sure Cuts A Lot and cut them out for her. She was married at GA Tech's Alumni hall, which is downtown GA. She was married doors, so the parking, reception and ceremony in the same area, but required walking. The signs where to help guest figure out where to head. (Naturally, I missed the signs when it came to parking until after I passed it!) I was able to mail them to her still on the backing of the vinyl, and she applied them to the sign boards after she painted them.

When she was visiting with me in Jan, when we were making the lollipops, we cut out the monograms for her table center pieces. We used two different fonts, the S was tilted, as the original slanted too much to the E. All she had to do was apply the vinyl to the glass when she had time back at her home. She had about 15 tables set up, and they were filled with pretty cloth flowers, and moss. The little gems were a nice pretty touch too. Very soft and subtle colors. Her wedding colors were gold and black. Extremely elegant, and she did a wonderful job with her vision and applying it. I was proud I was able to help her in the process.

I just wanted to show folks ideas for different things the cricut can do, outside of scrapbooking and cards. I'm so glad to be able to use tools I have to help family and friends with decorating and creating things that are 'theirs'.

Flutter By Wednesday #154, Anything BUT a card.

Today's a fun challenge at Flutter By Wednesday. It's Anything BUT a card! Fun, right?! I used the challenge to make something for Trey's teacher for Teacher Appreciation Week. (I made Gabi's teacher one too, but forget to photograph it!) We had something planned for Trey's teacher daily, and this day we were to bring school supplies. I decided to make some matching bags with my Mariposa pack from DCWV. I cut them out with the cricut using Tags, Bags and More. The bookmark name is designed with the cricut as well, but the bookmark is cut from my nesties. Nothing nicer than a personalized gift, right?! I used a butterfly set from TAC, that was just dying to get used. Such a pretty set that has been neglected in my stash! Because the paper was a little busier with it's pattern and glitter, I didn't embellish like crazy. I topped my plainer patterned bag with a prima.

Vinyl Cups.

Okay, saw these on a few blogs recently surfing cricut stuff. Totally unrelated, but how cool there's a new Expression out there?! Good gravy, I love my cricut! And think that's cool there's new version, not that I'll be getting it any time soon, but still super cool, right?! I watched some of the videos of it, and love that it will cut out Imagine shapes from their cartridges too.

Back to my cups. I was giddy at the idea of making some. Went searching around on line, and some fellow sites for crafters. Finally saw that Walmart had some back in stock. Found plain ones at Target, but the price point was higher than I wanted to pay. (I'm cheap!) Walmart had some darling ones too. Gabi and I liked the red polka dotted cup. Thought it was perfect for Trey's teacher too, since the school colors are red and black. The next day, Trey had a double header near another Walmart, so I tried there. They had blue polka dots, solid blue, green/yellow polka dots and solid green. The blue dots were darling. That was ideal for Gabi's teacher, based on her love of turtles, and favorite colors are blue and green.

Thoughts of who I could make them for where going thru my head! I mean, how neat to personalize them. Teacher appreciation is coming up, so how perfect as little gifts for the kids teachers. Than I wanted one myself and the kids. Some of you may not know this, but I heart the word DUDE. I say it to everyone at the kids school, and drive Trey nuts with it. The kids at his school call me Ms. Dude. I simply love the word. That meant it was going on my cup!

I designed the vinyl using the gypsy, and several different cartridges. I used Plantin School Book for the teachers' last names. The crown on King is from Gypsy Wandering. Joanne/Angela were designed with Calligraphy Collection. The swirls are from Cindy Lou on Mrs. King's cup. The Baseball cup is designed from Baseball. I can't remember what cartridge my butterfly, and font are from. The welding features are wonderful for making words, and welded each of the names. The baseball was a predesigned sentiment from the baseball cartridge.

Now, don't ya just want to go create some yourself?!

I'm doing great using images sent to me by sweet stamping friends! This was my last Easter card I made this year that I mailed out to family. I normally am so bad, I make the cards, and don't seem to mail them. This year, I did mail them, but ouch! The shipping on a few of them cost me 1.71. I so need to lay off the buttons! I knew I was mailing this one, so I went easy on my embellies, and tried to add with papers, not bulky flowers or buttons. Debbie sent me some wonderful Easter themed Magnolias this year. Loved them! This sweet little Magnolia was adorable, and a ton of fun to color! I followed a sketch from somewhere, but I'm drawing a blank about what site I had visited.

I love how this card turned out. Sweet Tammi, from Tropical Dreams, sent me this image. I had a wonderful time coloring her. Afterwards, I thought it would be a perfect match for my Emma SWIC papers from TAC. I used SU cardstock, Cranberry Crisp, and So Saffron.

This sweetie is colored in copics, and topped off with stickles. I used an EK boarder punch, and nesties. The edges of the pattern papers were distressed and dusted with Cranberry Crisp ink. The flowers are from my stash.

Take Out Those Images #23.

Life has gotten by me! I've been doing so well on being ahead of blogging stuff, and somehow, spring break comes for the kids, and I'm behind again! Oh, well, I've been working on a big project. I shouldn't beat myself up too much. I'm dying to show it off, but it's not ready just yet, and it's a gift, so I want the recipient to get it and not accidentally peak at it on my blog.

So, today's image features a sweet Elisabeth Bell image. My paper is from Pink Paisley, and the cardstock is from SU. I realized after I had completed the card that I had left off a stripe of pattern paper. It was to go over the pink layer. But being that I had already taped down, layered up, I didn't pull the card apart to fix my boo boo. This will be going to Trey's teacher during teacher appreciation week. Thought the book was perfect for a teacher. I followed the sketch 188 at Mojo Monday.

Playing with vinyl.

I read Eat, Pray, Love last year, and fell in love with two sayings in Italian the author talked about in her book. One was the art of doing nothing, and the second was the art of making something from nothing. I had a vision to put the art of doing nothing above my bed, with shadow flowers behind it. I hadn't found a flower in sgv form or on a cricut cartridge that I loved yet, so the vision was stuck on my Sure Cuts A Lot mat. Than I found a set of vinyl art flowers at Target on clearance, for 3.24. Grabbed them, cuz at that price, I'm sure I'd find some place for them. Well, they matched the comforter nicely, I liked them, so that finally took care of that issue.

I was buying some strawberry plants today at Lowes, and went to peak at the molding they sold. Grabbed two 8 foot sections of a molding I liked, and cut it with my miter saw. Leveled it up on my wall, added the flowers, than attached the bottom leg of the frame to hide the edges from the vinyl flowers. Than I added the sentiment I designed. I used Brock Script font and cut it out with Sure Cuts A Lot, and the butterflies are from Lauren M's, Flutters and Flowers svg file. The frame measures 4 feet by 2.5 feet.

Looking at the photo, I need to lower the l, n, and other l in bel. I went cheap and didn't use transfere tape, and put them on like a sticker. It can be removed, so I can adjust the letters still. I think I'm most pleased that I did the whole project myself, from buying the molding, cutting it at the right angles/length, putting it on the wall using a level, and centering it above my bed.

I saw the Digi Bells were holding a GD contest, and decided to try out for it. I am always saying how much I love Elisabeth Bell images. You have to love that she's got a site selling digis, on top of stamps being sold at so many locations! I used the second sketch they had for the GD call. You can view the information about the guest designer call on the Digi Bell's site. I used sweet Cupcake for my image. My papers are from TAC, this is Maggie SWIC. My sentiment is from TAC as well. I used Kioshi Basic Grey paper, and PTI cardstock. I colored her with copics, and cut out the flower to add some depth. And this was an image from my stash!

Today's card was made for a friend of mine who is having surgery for skin cancer. They found it above her ankle on her calf. I remember a past boss telling me that they found skin cancer on women on their legs a lot. I guess we worry about arms, and faces, but tend to skip the sunblock on the legs.

Personally, talking for myself, but I think it's the whiteness of legs that is scary! LOL! I sat at a ball game for Trey on Sunday, and had my legs crossed. I sunburned both my legs. Half of both calves are white, the other half red-cuz they got a little sunburned, and they have perfect lines separating the two areas. Very comical looking! First day I wore shorts outside this year. Will have to be better about that, since I don't want to get to get skin cancer on my legs.

I didn't have to do a lot of coloring on this image. I did her hair to look like my friend, and left her uniform white. I think Kim sent me this image a long time ago. The papers are really old too. Those are from SU's hostess pack, not sure what catty year. Been hoarding them for too long. I followed the Mojo Monday 187 sketch. The sentiment is from TAC.

This image is so pretty! I want to say it came from Debbie, but it might have been Tammi. So forgive me if I have them mixed up. I tried to picture Gabi doing ballet while I was coloring her. I don't like how my tights and shoes turned out, the colors seemed off to me. I was super pleased to see how well it went with a pack of paper, Maggie, from TAC. I started digging thru my paper stash, and came across it, and ooohhh'd when I put the image next to it. Beautiful match! Even cooler, it's double sided, so all of the paper came from the same sheet.

I added shimmerz and stickles to her dress. I thought it would look so pretty with a lot of bling. I know Gabi loved her costumes that were colored in bling. I sprayed my flowers with glimmer mist. I followed sketch 112 on Sweet Sunday Sketch. I punched out the flowers using a Cuttle Bug die, and tabs are from PTI's double banner die. I dusted all my edges with Rich Razzleberry ink pad.

Okay, today's a darling image from Claudia and Co, Puddle Jumper Emma from Lori Boyd. How cute is she? I can't remember who gave me this image, and guessing at one point it was sold as an rubber stamp. Looks like now it's in digital form. I used up some more Wild Raspberry paper from K and Co. Love that it's double sided, so one sheet gave me enough for the card. I used a sentiment from Verve Star Of Wonder stamp set, and kept off the last word of the sentiment, so it would work with my card. I kept thinking The Lord is Risen.

Okay, seriously, how stinking cute is this Magnolia image?! And lookie, two on this card, because the background is a different image from my stash. These came from Debbie. I had such a blast coloring these. Hard to believe spring is on it's way, been cold here the last few days. Wet too!

I like cold, but sometimes, a touch warmer would be nice. As I'm typing this, my dog, Maxwell is dying for attention. Keeps hitting the keyboard, the computer, pawing at me...guess he missed his momma. Doesn't he understand how important blogging is?! Today's another image from Elisabeth Bell. This is from the Sweet Art Ebony Collection. This is Carefree. I can't remember who was kind enough to send me this image. I had a wonderful time coloring her! I followed the Friday Sketchers Sketch 147. I used Raspberry Fizz felt from PTI to cut out some flowers with dies from the Cuttle Bug. I wanted to try the rolled up roses that everyone keeps making, so I cut out the flower with the die, and than cut it to make it roll. Not too shabby, right? I don't like how the stickles dried on there. Looks clumpy. Oh, and that felt from PTI, really is a lot softer than other felts. I had some from Michaels I had gotten ages ago, and I could feel the difference.

Oh, am I pleased with myself! I used 3 images from my stash! Pretty good! I hadn't scrapped Gabi's birthday yet, and thought the images from the So Special line where perfect additions to her scrapbook page. Tammi and Debbie sent me these images, thanks so much, ladies! I colored them with copics, and topped them with stickles. I tried to match their dress color to Gabi's shirt. My stack of papers from We R Memory Tiffany pack went just nicely with the colors in the photos, and my Magnolia images.

I used Celebrations cricut cartridge for the cupcakes, and banner. The banner didn't turn out quite how I wanted, I think I should have cut it out a little larger. It had a hard time cutting out the details on a few of the inside images. I welded the banners shapes together, and ran scrappers floss through it.

I used Sure Cuts A Lot for my sentiment. I cut it out and than switched to black out to created the background matting. I wish I could find an easier way glue those thin letters down. I always end up all sticky from glue pens. I dusted all my papers with Choco chip ink pad.

Hard to believe Miss Thing is eleven now! Time sure does fly. The sweets stickers all over the page were a find from Target clearance. They are pretty cool because they are 3-D and have glitter on them. Made them the right touch for her page. The metal charms were from Michaels on clearance. I tried to make the two candles together on the one cupcake look like the number 11.

Time for an anything goes challenge at Flutter By Wednesday. Today's card is a simple one for me. I used a sticker from K and Co that I found at Michaels. I loved the bright colors of the butterfly, and had to have these stickers. I used a sentiment from Jessica's Butterfly Wishes stamp set. My sweet southern friend, Debbie, sent it to me as a surprise. Which was so cool, because I had been eyeing it for the longest time, and hadn't purchased it. Thanks a ton, Debbie! I was trying to follow a sketch off My Favorite Things, but somehow, got lost with it, and ended up off task! My papers are from a retired pack from TAC. I'm down to scraps now. It's SU cardstock and ink, nesties, and stickles.

Whew, been a busy few days for me. Baseball has started and Trey's on two teams. So, lots of practices, and sitting around. Lucky for me, I had colored this image a few weeks back and hadn't made it into a card yet. Saw the Mojo Monday sketch for the week, and had to play along. I flipped it left to right because of how my image laid. This sweet image came to me from Tammi. I had a blast coloring this cutie. Reminded me of Gabi, and had to go crazy on the pinks. Worked out well that I had papers to match! I thought the sentiment went perfectly with the bright fun colors in my image, and papers.

Trimming The Tree.

Another scrapbook layout. This one is of the kids decorating the tree. Oddly, I don't have a lot of photos of them doing this holiday tradition. You'd think I'd photograph that every year. I used my Winter Folic cricut cartridge to cut out my people, and animals. The main sentiment is from the cartridge as well. This is one of my favorite winter cartridges. It has fun winter images like snow angels, reindeer, winter birds in trees, all kinds of sentiments with shadow backgrounds, winter animals, even a skiing rabbit! I cut all the people out at 2.5. The Christmas Spirit is cut out at 3.5 inches.

The snowflakes and other sentiments are stickers that I found on clearance. Using them from my stash. The sketch is from my favorite books. The paper pack is Secret Santa from K and Co. I love that it's double sided, because it allowed me to cut the clothing different for Mary and the Shepperd without having to use another sheet of paper. I love when Christmas papers have pink in them, because generally, Gabi's in pink, and so hard to have to match Trey. I'm so odd with having to have my paper match my clothing in scrapbook pages. Not sure a lot people are that way or if I'm overly compulsive about it!

I grabbed my Mariposa paper to make sure I had a butterfly on there. Made that mistake last week when I used a non-qualifying image and realized after I completed the card and uploaded it that I had totally forgotten my item with wings! Silly me! I also grabbed a Martha punch that had butterflies!

I promise I didn't slack on using images last Thursday. There wasn't a post from me, but two of my up coming Flutter By Wed. cards use images. I ended up making them for Flutter By, and didn't have time to do another card for Thursday on top of that. Today's sweet image came from Tammi. Such a sweet Magnolia image, isn't it?! Love when Tilda has long hair!

I used Mango Frost paper pack for my papers. SU cardstock, Bermuda Bay, and Groovy Guava. I followed the sketch at Just Magnolia and aHanglar Challenge blog. Mu flowers I found on clearance at either Michaels, or Target. I swear, my scrapping space looks like a store. It matched my paper, so I was giddy. Colored my image without having things picked out ahead of time, so it makes my day when it ends up matching something I already have in stock!

First Day Of School.

Been scrapping again. Catching up! Both of these layouts come from Jeanette Lynton's books, Cherish and Image. I can really never say this enough, these books give me such a great starting place with wonderful sketches, and I love how the pages look when I done.

I used my cricut to cut out the titles and accents on the pages. Gabi's cartridges are Forever Young, a complete favorite of mine. Everything but the title was cut out from this cartridge on Gabi's page. Thought she looked sassy striking some poses.

I cut each girl at 5, and the purse is cut at 2.5. Not sure if this is useful for anyone, but if you're using your gypsy, if you know the size you're cutting at than you can select to have layers cut at the same size.

Tip: If you're cutting out more than one image at a time, such as my girls, shadowing of the purse and boots were cut at one time on black cardstock, but in different sizes, you may want to write down the size you're cutting each image.

Really cool feature that the gypsy has, that I haven't found on the Design Studio, is the keep in proportion feature. That means that as long as you know one measurement, it'll keep it all proportion when you change one number. If you haven't clicked on chain, than it can distort your image.

Make sure you've clicked on the little chain link button between width and height on the basic screen. It will show up in yellow when it's been selected. With that clicked, you can type in 5 inches in height, and it'll make the width the correct number for keeping in proportion to the original shape of the image.

Don't panic thinking that it's gonna cut out layers to 5 inches. It cuts them perfectly for layering of the image at five inches. Such as with the girls, the dress is cut to five inch model, but it's not actually five inches. You'll get perfect layers as long as you keep the proportions selected, and know the size you're cutting your image at.

Trey's little boy and dog were cut from the Every Day Paper Dolls cartridge. Both of the kids' titles were cut from Locker Talk. Those were pre-made features on the cartridge. His little model has a skateboard cut out and on the shirt, but its really hard to see it. The dog has a little scarf on it's neck.

Flutter By Wednesday #145, Photo Inspiration.

We have a great challenge today at Flutter By Wednesday. It's a bright fun photo. It just screams spring to me. I pulled out Chelsea's Closet paper pack again for this card. Thought the blues and yellows were perfect for this challenge. I papered pieced my sweet little Anya from The Greeting Farm's Miss Anya Love set , and added the flowers on top of it all. I had issues with my Sharpie paint pen. Sucker was dripping on me, and plopped a few times where it shouldn't have. I added some extra flowers to cover up two spots. I also added a white line around her dress. Doesn't she just look like Heidi up on the mountain top picking daises?

Take Out Those Images #11.

Okay, I'm super excited to show off today's project. Forgive me, because there's gonna be several photos to show what I did on these pages.

I was sent these images from The Greeting Farm from Tammi. Aren't they the cutest? I thought they'd be a wonderful addition to this page after I had the photos developed. I colored one to look like Gabi, and one to look like Trey.

Now a little bit about the page, because it's got some fun elements on it. Back in December, my neighbors invited the kids and I over for what they call the "Christmas Cookie Cook Off." Sounds like fun, doesn't it?

Man, my neighbor was prepared for this too! Sheets covered the tables, and they were all decked out for decorating messy cookies with frostings, sprinkles, cookie cutters, rollers and flour! They were serious about their cookie cook off! They compete to see who can make the coolest cookies. Hands down went to their son's girlfriend, the one where glasses in the photos. She's been to culinary school, and rocked decorating! Second place had to be their son, Patrick, who made an ice cream cone out of a star. I mean, that's crafty for a dude, isn't it?!

The kids loved it, and spent 4 hours rolling, cutting, frosting, sprinkling love, and eating cookies.

Than I kicked it up a notch, and used a neglected cricut cartridge, From My Kitchen, too add some extra fun touches to the page. Do you see that darling timer? Look at the rolling pin...love it! Even cut out a little hand mixer. I had planned on using cookies we decorated that I took some photos off to use for the 'O's in my title, but they were too big. So, had to go with something else. I had grabbed this cartridge the other day when Trey wanted bacon on a hat for Dr. Seuss Week-don't ask. There wasn't any bacon on this cartridge, but it was fresh in my mind from pulling it out for him, and thought it was perfect for this layout.

The cartridge didn't have a lot of cookies though, but did have the cute gingerbread chap. I thought the hot pads would be perfect with the cookie theme. I mean, how cute are those cherries? I layered up just about all the cut pieces, which is a great feature with the cartridge.

Than in a rare "Ah-Ha!" moment, I added the buttons for the cherries, and to the gingerbread men. Perfect touch, huh?! The gingerbread man was accented with white paint pen. It did have a feature to layer it up, but they were tiny parts, so I just did the pen.

I'm doing good! Made ten cards now from wonderful images sent to me! This week's image came from Tammi. I gasped when I saw the images she sent me. This cutie pie is from Bildmalarna. First time I've colored one of these images, or seen them in person. So flipping cute! I couldn't wait to color up a few images she sent to me a week or so ago. I decided to see if they had a blog, because they're totally new company to me. I discovered they did have one, and had to play along with their challenge, which was to use hearts. Flutter By Wednesday #144, Robyn's Fetish

We had a fun sponsor today at Flutter By Wednesday, Robyn's Fetish. I picked sweet Christie Angel to play with, and I was not disappointed. It reminded me of my Mom and sister, who like to sew. Almost made me pull out my sewing machine, and attempt to sew. It was short lived, and the sewing machine didn't move off the floor. I'm sewing impaired. It's me too, because I lent it to a friend, who's mom was in town, and they were making cute costumes for some school function. I gave them a warning that I hadn't been able to get it to work right....well, they had no problems. Humph....so yea, it's me, and therefore the sucker sat on the floor untouched!

Back to my cute card, since it reminded me of sewing, I pulled out Chelsea's Closet paper pack that's been taking up space. It's got a few papers that have measuring tape on them, and thought it would look perfect with the image. I followed sketch 143 on Friday Sketchers. I popped out her angel wings, bow, pocket and little star.

Here's a darling image from Elisabeth Bell from my stash of images I'm working on showcasing wonderful images I've been sent. Always love Elisabeth's images. This image is from the Sweetart Ebony Collection, Sweetart Girls, Strawberry Tea. Looks like they were sold thru Belles and Whistles, but I'm not certain if they still are.

I colored this one without having my papers picked out ahead of time, and happy to discover it matched my Mango Frost papers from DCWV. I followed sketch 48 at Sunday Sketch and Stamp.

I used Cindy Loo cricut cartridge to cut out the swirl. I love when I see them used on other blogs, and most folks probably have a cool die to cut them out, but since I didn't have one, was excited to use my cricut to cut one out. Good to use what you own, right?!I'm gonna have to make more of those suckers because those are pretty cool! Now, I see why everyone uses them all the time! I noticed after the fact that my little lady is a bit sideways. Gonna try to fix that.

Trey's Monster Mash

Here's Trey's Halloween page. If you're wondering what he was.....I couldn't tell you! He wanted to wear his Anikan Skywalker costume, and be scary. So, drew on his face, made him happy, and that's how he went. My neighbor asked what he was that night. Eight year old boys, what can I say?! LOL!

The sketch came from Jeanette Lynton's book. I love those books for scrapbooking. It used tearing in the sketch, so I did follow that, because I thought it created a perfect touch with the Halloween theme. The bats are from a set of stickers I found on clearance.

This page also uses the Happy Haunting cartridge that I borrowed from my neighbor. She's gonna be impressed when she sees these pages. The title is a predesigned phrase on the cartridge. It cuts out in one piece, the m's where combined, but I separated them to fit better on the page. The phrases even have a shadow element, so I took advantage of that and grounded the phrase.

I cut out the monsters and layered them up to create their faces, hair and clothes. Cool thing about them, they matched one of the papers I used. How cool is that?! I love matchy matchy stuff with scrapbooking. I love that mummy! Such a cool cartridge. Another one I'm gonna have to grab one of these days!

Gabi's Haunted Scrapbook Pages.

Been scrapping like crazy. I'm behind, working on photos from the fall, and even from last Halloween, like 2009 Halloween. Because I did more cricut cutting on these pages, I'm gonna showcase them separately. Normally, I to put up more than one page at a time, but with details from the cricut, gonna slow down a little and show off a few parts from the cartridges.

This is Gabi's Halloween page from Halloween 10. She was Dorothy, and took a webkin with her as ToTo. She loves her webkins, so she loved taking the webkin along for the walk. I went all out with the Halloween themed papers and embellies. I had gotten some stickers on clearance from Target, and Michaels, and using them up on these pages.

The coolest parts of the pages were cut with Happy Haunted cartridge. I borrowed this from my neighbor. I cut out the title from it's phrases section. It's shadowed out in purple cardstock. The tree is also cut out in layers. The yellow is the bottom layer, black tree the middle, and the grass is the final part. I ran it thru the Xyron sticker maker, and it left some strays of glue. I than poured glitter on it, and rubbed it around the edges, so it's sparkly in person. Perfect for Gabi. I added stickles to the moon, mouth, and grass. I also cut out the cauldron, and layered it up. I ran the flame thru backwards, so I dumped glitter on it too. The coolest part didn't photograph well, but the gate to the graveyard. Very cool! That is layered with the gate, sign, beware, tombstones, and grass. I added some purple rhinestones to the iron gates. Very fun page to make!

I've more of these coming in the next few days, hopefully! Baseball starts, so that might cause some scheduling issues.

Seemed like a great spring time image to play with. We've had some warm weather lately, and feels like spring is coming. I followed the sketch from The Sweet Stop.

Cute image to show off today! How sweet is that doggie? I have no idea where this image is from, thought Whipper Snapper but not seeing it there. I sent it to a sweet friend who's been ill, along with her little one. Figured the sweet image, and fun colors would brighten her day. I had so much fun coloring the sofa, and pulling out whatever color markers. Normally, I color based on paper, but I sat down the other day and just colored a few images. Should be interesting to see how the other images turn out when I make cards with them.

Two More Pages Done!

Finished up two more pages for Gabi. This first one is from her ballet routine last summer. She was part of the Diamond's group. They had rubies, emeralds, diamonds, and sapphires. I have to admit, I was disappointed with her costume, because the year before, her ballet costume was also grey. I would have loved a different colored tutu. Lucky for me, she looks wonderful in grey. And if you noticed with her other scrapbook pages of her routines from last year, the majority of her costumes were all black and white. You can see them here, here For a person who loves color in her scrapbook pages, this was painful! For a girl who love hot pink, that killed Gabi. I had found a lovely K and Co pack of papers in the wedding section at Michaels, but I swear I've used them on just about every page from her routines last year.

This was Gabi's lyrical routine, and this costume was full of colors! Yea for me...and Gabi! I was pleased to scrapbook something from that year that was more than just black and white! I pulled out Mariposa DCWV stack, because the colors seemed to blend beautifully with her costume, and well that's a beautiful stack of papers.

I borrowed my friend's Wall's Decors and More Cricut cartridge to cut out my beautiful dancers, if you can see them in the photo. I've used this cartridge several times, I think I'm gonna have to buy it soon! LOL! I think it's been at my house more than hers lately!

Catching Up On Scrapbooking.

Two pages to show off today. One is of Gabi's dance recital from last year called Fosse. This was a big group routine, where all the dancers were in the routine. They all had the same black bling body piece, but different accessories depending on which part of the routine they were in. At the end, they all came out in just the black piece. Fun little routine for the girls. She's taken dance with her friend since preschool, so we always snap a photo of them together. Her friend is a fantastic dancer, so she was in the older girls routine part. Her outfit had a white shirt, and tie.

This page is full of bling swirls, but it's not showing up so well in the photo due to the loud papers.

Than I took the kids to see the Buford Dam in Ga when we visited in Aug when my father passed away. Family still lives very close to the dam, so seems odd they've never been before last summer. My family went every year over the summer. Always funny to go back to something when you're grown, and see how different it is from what you remember. I remember this thing being huge! Being able to see the dam very well from this one over look. I don't recall the bridge that was there now. My in laws said it was different now since 911, and had been built around to keep it safe. The kids enjoyed it, but liked the water area they walked down too over the actual dam.

Both pages I used my cricut to cut out the titles. I used Sure Cuts A Lot software to do my titles in any font on the computer. That program is very easy to use to shadow a title. The Buford page I used a cartridge called Life's A Beach. I used Jeanette Lynton's books Cherish, and Imagine. I pull those two books out every time I scrapbook. They give me a great starting place with a wonderful sketch to work with. I'm always so happy with the end result.

Darling card to show you today. Love this image too! Elisabeth Bell images are some of my favorite. She draws such cute little peeps. This image is from Whiff of Joy's Willow with umbrella. I've had this image for a long time, I'm sorry I can't recall who was kind enough to send it to me. The card is five and half by five and half to allow me to add embellies around Willow. I followed a sketch Sweet Sketch Wednesday.

I'm still working on using up some packs of papers I've been hoarding, and this is Basic Grey's Sultry pack. Love the colors in this pack. Pink, green and brown, one of my favorite colors to use together. I added stickles, and paper glaze to the rain drops. The umbrella is topped with stickles, as well as the flowers. My sentiment is from Verve Stamps, Blue Skies. I cut out the image and the sentiment with nesties, and dusted with choco chip ink. Willow is colored with copics. I used retired SU cardstock, and PTI's chartrues cardstock.

My image is Spring Birgitta at All That's Scraps. Looks like she's being retired. The fence behind her is the Butterfly fence in the Swiss Pixie line. My paper pack is an older DCWV spring stack that I found on clearance a few years ago.

Finally used my Martha Stewart grass punch. I swear, when it first came out, I thought, oh, I don't need that. Than saw all these cool cards done with it, and HAD to have it. Only than, I couldn't find it any more at Micheals. Should add that I'm cheap, so I could find it online, but it was at full price, and I like my 40% off coupons. So, went crazy forever trying to get it at Michaels without any luck. Finally found it locally at a scrapbook store. Broke down and brought it. And now I'm just now finally using it! LOL! My neighbor is gonna make fun of me for this, because she was with me all the times I was trying to find it, and when I purchased it.

Take Out Those Images #6.

Today I have a small quick project to show with my images. With Valentine's parties at the kids schools, both needed boxes to put their cards from fellow students. Gabi requested something pink with cute animals. So, I went to my pile of images, and pulled out 4 cute bears I thought would work well for a Valentine themed box. She loved it and was so pleased with it. I've never made the Valentine's boxes from tissue boxes. Neat idea if you all haven't heard of that either. Plus, with cold season, I'm sure there's a surplus floating around to be recycled at your houses!

I used a pack of paper that had the letters already decorated with matching paper by We Are Memory Keepers that I found at Michaels called Tiffany. It also came with some die cuts, which were easy to add on her box as well. She saw the pink sheet when I was digging thru my stash of papers last week, which has glitter already on it, and was dying for me to use it. The images are colored with copics, and topped off with stickles. I pulled out just about every pink copic I had to use on the bears. Glad they matched the papers well! That girl loves her pink!

The buttons were just a nice added touch for Gabi, and helped use them from my stash. The paper is mod podged on the box. The top sheet was left over scrap paper from another project, but I liked that it said love is all you need, so I felt that was perfect for her box.

My image is colored with copics, cut out with nesties, and topped with stickles. I followed sketch #139, from Friday Sketchers. I used Sultry papers from Basic Grey, SU cardstock Wild Wasabi , and Pixie Pink. Dusted the ends with Close to Cocoa.

Take Out Those Images #5.

Having a busy week, wasn't sure I'd get to this today. Trying to catch up from last week, the kids both had the flu. Didn't get out of the house except to see the DR twice, and hunt down Tamiflu! I was happy with myself because I managed to squeeze in an hour this afternoon before picking up the kids.

These images came from Tammi, at least I think they came from Tammi. The heart is throwing me off, cuz hearts make me think of Debbie. (Sadly, who sent them to me sent them to me last year. A year isn't too bad, I've got bella images that are at least 3 years old!) Well, it's one image, but I cut out the heart and hat bow from another image, so I used two. I did also use up two other images Sunday when I was making a Valentine box for Trey for school. I guess I should have taken a photo of that, too. Anyhow, working on using up the last bit of my Bittersweet Basic Grey paper pack. That ribbon is also about two years old from Martha Stewart. I followed the Feb Sketch on I Heart 2 Stamp.

A Gabi Challenge.

Gabi gave me a challenge on Friday to make a fairy princess, with green eyes, and bling. Any color dress that I wanted. I messed up and forgot the fairy party. So, it's a princess card, with bling, and green eyes. She pointed out the lack of a fairy when I showed her the card. Funny kid! So close, but missed the mark! I was too excited to use this new stamp I had gotten from All That's Scraps to pay enough to attention to the fairy part of her challenge. I put Smooch on her lips and eye lids, but it's looking funky in the photo.

I'm making good progress on using images! I've made five cards with them! This image came from Debbie. Perfect image from her. She loves hearts! My sentiment is from TAC. I thought it went perfectly with this sweet Tilda.

I'm a sucker for the Tilda's with long hair. Wish my hair would grow that long and be softly covered in curls! Using more of my Bittersweet Basic Grey pack. I'm down to a handful of full sheets. Plus, I figured I should make some Valentine's day cards before Feb. 14th arrives!

I'm having blogging issues. Thought I was just playing around with their new designer stuff, and ended up messing up my blog. Than tried to undo it, and couldn't get that back right either. I have to say, I had a blast coloring this card. I heart this card! I think it turned out so pretty. Not being humble...lol, because really, I think it looks so good! I've never colored black hair before, so that was new for me. Not too shabby for a first try. She's my little raven beauty! And I love how her wings turned out! Can you tell I'm really pleased with this card?!

I also made the little rosette centers on the flowers from an old pack of flowers that lost their shape that went with my paper pack, Sabrina. That pack of paper is about 3 years old, and the paper flowers didn't keep the groove shape of the flower. So, I cut them, rolled them, than glued them to a small prima flowers, and finally topped them with stickles.

I followed the sketch off The Sweet Stop, SSS93. Love the crisp lines of the sketch.

Take Out Those Images #3.

Took another image out of my stash! This Stamping Bella image is way too cute. Love her full hair! Wish I had thick wavy hair like her. I decided she'd make a perfect Valentine card, holding all those hearts. Proud to say I used only scraps of my Bittersweet Basic Grey paper pack too! The cardstock was a full sheet. Wasn't sure how big my cricut was gonna cut the card base. I used my Wild Card cartridge to make the card. The wave is made from the paisley nestie. I didn't notice that the pearls had moved at the end of the card when I took my photo. I followed the Mojo Monday sketch for this card.

She's colored with copics, and topped with stickles. I used an old Gingersnaps set for the sentiment and hearts on the inside of the card. I also used my PTI banner die.

Played with a sweet image from Magnolia last night. My friend, Tammi, sent me this stamp for Christmas. I had been given some images from her as well, and this is one of the images. Doing good on using images! I'm on a mission to use them as often as I can! That and all those packs of papers I keep hoarding!

Gabi calls these images hippos. Took me a while to figure out what she was talking about when she inquired about the hippo people. Made me chuckle when I figured out what she was talking about.

The challenge at All That's Scraps is Let It Snow. The sentiment is computer generated, and punched out with SU tag punch. I followed a sketch off My Favorite Things. I love how my snowflakes turned out. I used some chunky glitter from Martha Stewart on them.

Take Out Those Images #2.

I did good! Here's another card using images sent by friends. I went through my images, and organized them by designers. Made it a little easier to see what I have, and I had fun ooo'ing at the images as I was piling them in piles. These images came from Debbie. And lookie, more than one image! I've used three on this card! All darling images too! Even grabbed out Bittersweet from Basic Grey to work on using up some packs of papers. I hoard way too much! I should challenge myself to see what I can use in the next coming months! I don't seem to make a lot of Valentines day cards. I've had this Martha punch for a few years, I mean the punch has rubber under it instead of an opening under the metal. I think this is honestly the first time I've used it. It goes perfectly with the two images. I used it and punch out some extra hearts. The punch punches out the sentiment and two hearts. I did the sketch challenge at Just Magnolia. I flipped the sketch sideways. Didn't realize until after I cropped my photo how uneven my gems where. I colored them with my copic to make it match. That's so cool they can do that!

That's a hard challenge for me! I always seem to use pattern paper, and a ton of colors on my cards! I went with Sweet Sugar Angel from All That's Scraps on my card, cuz they look good in white, right? I grabbed her with the gift card from my MIL from Christmas. I created the sentiment by following some directions Tammi gave me. It was my first attempt at using Photo Shop to create the sentiment, wish I'd made it a little bigger. I followed the Mojo Monday Sketch #172.

I've been given wonderful images from fellow stampers. I love getting that happy mail! But sadly, I don't use them as often as I should. So, this year, I'm gonna challenge myself to use them on Tuesdays and/or Thursdays. Hopefully, I'll do this twice a week, but even if I make a card with them once a week, I'll be putting them to great use!

This image and sentiment is from my sweet blogging friend, Tammi. She's colored with copics, topped off with stickles.

I also followed the sketch on Mojo Monday. Even down to the pin part! I was so excited to see this die at Paper Trey Ink. Had to get it. I can't make those perfect little ends. Tammi had sent the sentiments too, and the smaller banner die part fit perfectly! I than layered it up with wild wasabi green cardstock on the larger banner die.

Perfection in frames!

Okay, don't ya just love it when something turns out just like how you picture it? Sometimes turns out even cuter than your expecting?! I had this idea in my head, and gotta say, I'm so happy with how it turned out. I want to go drag it around to my neighbors to show it off!

My Grandma was a painter. She painted cells for Disney's Snow White when it came out waaayyyy back in the day. In her house, she had several pieces of art she'd painted. Some of the more cherished paintings included my Grandfather in his Officer's Navy uniform, my sister as a little girl, she even kept her bangs crooked much to my mom's dismay, Stone Mountain, which was a place we visited often when we came to Atlanta, and other places she loved visiting in the mountains.

My personal favorite was of these darling little southern bell paintings that hung in bathroom. They wore blue southern bell big dresses, hats, little umbrellas, sitting on a rock type of thing. There were two of these plaques that she'd created. I loved looking at them when we'd go visit with her. I was just talking to my mom and sister about them when I visited them at Christmas time. They were a treasured part of my Grandma's artwork. I'm sure all of her granddaughters think of those little paintings fondly.

After getting the Forever Young cartridge for my cricut a few weeks back, I pictured doing something similar with the girls and different pattern papers. I cut out different models, as they're called on the cartridge, and dressed them up in Basic Grey Green At Heart paper pack. I hadn't known where I wanted to put them yet, but thought they were so cute when I was done with my first batch. Than I found a great steal at Target. They had a pack of five frames with the mats in the frames on clearance for 6 bucks. Good deal, right? I snatched them up without thinking what I'd put in the frames. When I got home, I thought the girls I'd cut out would go perfectly in the frames. I had cut my first batch at 4 inches, and the frames had spots for two larger models. I spent today cutting out models and the other clothing articles for the bigger frame. Look at those undies? How stinking cute are they?

Such a fun cartridge. I can it being used for darling wedding invitations, or teen birthday party invites. It even has little purses you can cut out for party favors or little thank you's that you can fill with candies.

I think this was such a fun, darling project! My girls are topped with some gems, and stickles. I've layered up where the cartridge had items to layer. I'm saying I love that machine. I've mastered the layering, and found that as long as you know your size, you can layer perfectly. So, with the girls that were 4 inches, I tell the gypsy to keep the shape the same, and change the part being layered to four inches, and the cricut does it perfectly to be layered. Amazes me how that machine works. For those working on the gypsy, just make sure you have that little chain link in yellow, and it'll keep your proportions correct and enlarge the shapes correctly.

There are tutorials on Provo Craft's website, if you've recently received these products and are confused by what I'm talking about! I was against the gypsy for the longest time when my friend kept talking about it. Now, I'm so glad I have it.

I love this new Sweet November princess stamp at All That's Scraps. I adore the way Amy at A Thousand Sheets Of Papers lets her images pop off the papers. I have a hard time with that, I have to mount them on a center focal point. I seem to lose my images on the papers, where as her images still grab center stage. Scroll thru her blog if you've never visited it before, you'll see what I'm talking about.

I got a fun email yesterday from my sweet friend, Debbie, stating she'd just gotten a Cricut! I was delighted to hear that, I love my cricut! I can't wait to see what she creates with it! I was playing with it and cut out the mirror with my Disney Princess Dreams Do Come True cartridge. I need to use it more with my card making. This one is Belle's mirror. The sentiment is computer generated thanks to some great tips from Tammi.

I found the small 4.5 by 6.5 DCWV stack of Once Upon A Time stack at AC Moore ages ago. I love that paper, but have barely touched the 12x12 stack I have. I hoard paper. It's so pretty, I can't bring myself to cut it. Figured if I had the smaller size, I'd use it....yea, I hoarded it too! But it goes perfectly with this princess! I have one of the other princess too, so I'm gonna have to break out of my keep it in tact mode, and made a card with it too!

I grabbed this cutie from All That's Scraps a week ago. Love those little Swiss Pixies. I followed the Mojo Monday Sketch 174. I grabbed some new cardstock from PTI. Love the simply chartreuse color! Not that the color is new to them, but I hadn't gotten it yet. Love it!

What Do A 120 Lollipops Look Like?

Have you ever seen 120 lollipops not in a grocery store?! My niece is getting married, and her favors are those cute round lollipops. Well, being that I love playing with paper, I threw in an idea as to how to decorate them over Christmas, and helped her make them. We've spent two days working on these party favors. Her colors are gold, black and white. Going with that, and her elegant style, we cut out with the cricut the scallops, circles, than heat embossed the black center with gold embossing powder, and topped that with a gold monogram S. She called it a sweat shop! It took some time to do all those steps to all those pops. Than we added some ribbon and scrappers floss.

They came in boxes. She was gonna spray paint them black, but instead we mod podged the boxes with different papers. Than we decorated them. So, they're all so cute and pretty! She was pleased with them. It was hard keeping Trey away from the pops. All he wanted to do was eat them!

We also cut out their initials on black vinyl. She's having glass candle center pieces, and putting the monograms on them. They looked really sharp. I was really happy to be able to put all this fun stuff I've learned from wonderful crafters everywhere to bring her vision to life. I know it'll be very helpful having it done and out of the way in the coming months.

Gabi was sweet enough to help us cut out scrappers floss for all the lollipops. In between doing that, she decided to take time to make some cards. She made three cards that she wanted to show off. Did all of it on her own. No helping with the brads, ribbon, stickles, and sketches. She pulled from scraps of papers. She helped spray the flowers for Dani with glimmer mist, and she took the extra flowers to put them on her card. Girl loves some bling!

I have to say, I'm so excited with how this card turned out! My MIL had given me a gift card to All That's Scraps for Christmas and I've been eyeing Coriander for the longest time! I grabbed her and so glad I did. She's so much fun to color. I love how she's sitting! I paper pieced her in an odd manner. I found Glimmer Mist Crown Jewels at AC Moore. I sprayed her wings in pearl, and her dress in Black Cherry. Than on a third image, I layered the wings first on the third image, colored her hair and body in copics cut them out, layered them on the image, than put her outfit on top of that layer. The paper is Genevieve which is a retired pack from TAC. Sadly, I only have scraps left now. And check out her green hair! So happy with that, cuz that's so hard for me to pull off! I even sprayed the magenta flowers in glimmer mist. They were white to begin with. Than she's topped of with stickles and so are my flowers. I embossed the center oval after cutting it out with my nestie. The sentiment is from Pink Cat Studio's Fairy set.
