Flutter By Wednesday #150.

Today's a great day to join us at Flutter By Wednesday. Danni has some fun cooked up for today. Not only did we get to 200 entries a few weeks back, we are sitting at challenge #150 today. I bet Danni's surprised to see that number roll around! I know that number means a great deal to her! So, in order to celebrate she's giving away some candy! And what would that be?! I'll give you an idea, and than you'll need to head to the Flutter By Wednesday blog to get the full details! Let's say she's giving away a stamp or two from Sparkle's Creations!

There was another challenge at Flutter By Wednesday to use soft pastel colors on the card. I tried. I love pastels, but I think my card ended up brighter than I expected it too when I picked out my papers!

I made a skyline background for Chloe! I've had this idea to do this with two stamp sets from TAC for awhile, but hadn't done it yet. So, I pulled out The Places You'll Go set for this card. Gabi loved my card yesterday when she saw it, and was so excited to see how I made the skyline using The Places You'll Go from TAC. I followed sketch 186 from Mojo Monday.

Thanks for stopping by!

Warm Fluttering.

Had some time to create yesterday. We got back in town on Wed night from my Dad's Memorial Service to Earl heading our way. Packed up the back yard and got prepared for him to blow our way. Appears to have blown out to sea with only dumping a little rain our way. Meet the kids teachers yesterday, our school starts on Tuesday, and am so happy with their classrooms this year. They both have some wonderful kids in their classes, and Trey's teacher is one of my favorites so I'm very excited about the coming year at school!
I had to play along with Flutterby Wed. They had a sketch by Mercy, and I do love sketches! Danni and her team are having a big birthday bash, so make sure you pop over there and take a peak at what they are up too. I pull out my Mariposa paper from DCWV. Had some scraps left over from the book marks I made, and some canisters I redid for the kitchen. I wish I would have taken a before photo of them. They were done in a vintage tea theme, off white, and brown ink on them. I used a sweet Elisabeth Bell image from Susana's store. I'm sending this to my Mom. I'm sure as the house has quieted down from guests coming to the service, she'll have too much time to think about stuff. She breeds birds, so I'm hoping she'll like the cages on the paper.
Thanks for stopping by.

Fun and Bright Lily!

Goodness, how cute did she turn out?! I just love how this card looks! Even used colors I don't normally use...orange. But love it! Anyhow, enough tooting my own horn! LOL! I used the sketch from Eat, Sleep, Stamp. Saw my blogging friend, Rachel, was their guest. She makes some lovely cards, so big woo hoo to her! I'm also entering this in the Flutterby Wed cuz I love to play along there too. It's an open challenge too, so means you only need a butterfly, angel or fairy on your card. I cut out my froggie, flower on her wand, and front flower petals. I dabbed her with stickles. I layered the lily pad and part of the petals with smooch. Just to give it a little shine. I tried to add some spots to my frog with a deep shade of copic green. I like how that turned out too. I love when Amy, from A Thousand Sheets of Paper, does that type of things to her images. She's done it with her mermaids, and I swear, I kept looking for a stamp to see if it was a stamp! But I think I've decided she's using markers to get the look. You can see what I'm talking about on this card here. I think it just looks so cool, and adds just a light touch on the images.
