Flutter By Wednesday 192, Open Challenge, Susana's Custom Art and Card Design

It's an open challenge today at Flutter By Wednesday. Means you need to have a butterfly, fairy or an angel on your creation!  We have a wonderful sponsor this week as well, it's Susana's Custom Art and Card Design.  I was lucky enough to play with sweet Polished Beauty by Victoria Case.  I really tried to stretch myself and make the mushroom and rock as realistic as I could.  Not sure if I'm totally pleased with the rock, but I think the mushroom rocks!  We look forward to see what you create this week!  Be sure to link your creation back on the Flutter By Wednesday blog, and take a peak at what the other designers made this week!  You'll be glad you fluttered by!

Flutter By Wednesday 191, Pretty In Pink, Inspiriation Photo

Today we have a photo to pull inspiration from for our challenge at Flutter By Wednesday.  Isn't this a beautiful set of flowers?  Love all the pink!  Made me think of weddings and valentine's Day. What about you?
Don't forget your butterfly, fairy or angel!  I didn't forget mine this week!  LOL!   I colored my sweet image sent to me by a friend with pink pulling in from the lovely photo.  I had a blast coloring little Tilda in!  What's more than giving her pink, and bling?  I followed the sketch 253 over at CPS.  I flipped it, as it worked better for my card.  Be sure to stop by the Flutter By Wednesday blog to see what the other design team members created, and to link up your creation!

Flutter By Wednesday 190, Winged Things.

Today's a fun challenge at Flutter By Wednesday, anything with wings!  Please note, this is for this weeks challenge only!  My project is what I gave my mom for Christmas this year.  My mom loves birds.  She breeds them.  Has little a nursery set up and everything. A couple bigger birds in huge cages in her den, I can tell you their names, but not breeds, one is Puff, he's white.  I tried to teach him the word Dude when I was in town last time.  She's got a BIG parrot named George, he's blue and green.  At least I think he's a parrot!

I used my Serenade Cricut cartridge cut out the bird cage first on a cereal  box, at 9.75 inches than again with the pattern paper.  I modge podged them together, So nice to have the Cricut cut things out perfectly for layering reason, added some sweet gems, and dusted with ink to the edges of the papers.  Than I cut out the bird the same way.  The family was cut from a different cartridge in vinyl.

So, for this weeks challenge ONLY you get to use anything with wings!  We look forward to seeing what you all make!  Make sure you like it back to the Flutter By Wednesday blog!  See what the other designers came up with while you're linking up your creation!

Flutter By Wednesday 187, Like A Emboss.

I know that title will make no sense to the masses, but it reminded of something my 12 year daughter is always saying, "Like a boss".  I have no idea where she got it from, but she says it all the time. So, it just hit me when I started typing thinking of our challenge today!  Today's challenge at Flutter By Wednesday is to emboss.  Don't forget your butterfly, fairy and angel!  So go emboss like a boss!  LOL!

Today's card is so pretty, yes?  I have been watching videos at Color Me Copic.  Such talented ladies over there sharing their tips and tidbits.  One of my personal favorites is Amy from A Thousand Sheets Of Paper.  Trying her tips on hair today.  I also followed the sketch from Sketch Saturday.  Make sure you stopped by Flutter By Wednesday to link up your creation, and see what the other designers came up with for today's challenge.  My image and sentiment are from The Greeting Farm and my image is from All That's Scrap.
Thanks for stopping by!

Chirping Owls. Using the Cricut for school.

Gabi had a book report due and had to have visual aids a few months back.  She did the report on the "Guardians Of Gahool".  Good books, if you haven't read them them, or if your kids haven't.  She enjoyed the book, and read the next one right away.  In order to get her visual aids I pulled out my cricut,

We felt like Popsicle sticks would be perfect for making hand puppets of the main characters.  (Tip...I pulled out the sticks from the vinyl packages for the cricut.) I borrowed the Create a Critter cartridge from my neighbor.   From there I cut out the same image four times, layered it up each time as well.  I tried to shape the owls different, since they were all different in the story.  She directed me on what color card stocks to use.  She added touches for the wings using white ink pen, stickles, shimmerz, and such to add more depth and differences to her creations.  Always amazes me what the cricut can be used for, and love that she went in feeling like a rock star with her little owl puppets.
