Flutter By Wednesday #142, Rainbows.

Today's challenge is to have a rainbow, or rainbow of colors at Flutter By Wednesday. Coarse, don't forget to include a butterfly, fairy or angel on your card. Be sure to check out what the other design team members made by clicking on their names to the right, or by going to the FBW blog.

My image is Spring Birgitta at All That's Scraps. Looks like she's being retired. The fence behind her is the Butterfly fence in the Swiss Pixie line. My paper pack is an older DCWV spring stack that I found on clearance a few years ago.
Finally used my Martha Stewart grass punch. I swear, when it first came out, I thought, oh, I don't need that. Than saw all these cool cards done with it, and HAD to have it. Only than, I couldn't find it any more at Micheals. Should add that I'm cheap, so I could find it online, but it was at full price, and I like my 40% off coupons. So, went crazy forever trying to get it at Michaels without any luck. Finally found it locally at a scrapbook store. Broke down and brought it. And now I'm just now finally using it! LOL! My neighbor is gonna make fun of me for this, because she was with me all the times I was trying to find it, and when I purchased it.
Hope you all play along with us at Flutter By Wednesday. Be sure to link your creation back up on the blog so we can come by and visit your blog!
Thanks for stopping by.

Party Time Tuesday #10.

Wow! Hard to believe its been 10 weeks of parting with the girls at Party Time Tuesdays! Today we have a summer theme for your birthday card. I grabbed from my lovely stash of CC Designs Mermaids. Gabi had challenged me to make a rainbow colored haired mermaid. Remember a few weeks back she wanted hot pink. (This card was made the same time as that one...a day or two later in fact.) I was so pleased with how it turned out, but sad that I had to keep it a secret for so long! I cut along the pattern that I thought reminded me of a wave. Than the set of papers has a sheet of tags. I put her on the tag after I cut her out.
For her hair, I went thru my copics finding colors that went with the next color in the rainbow. Drew lines on a scrap paper to see how they'd go together. I'm pleased with her hair! Than surprise for me, I had just grabbed this paper pack from The Angel Company, (TAC) and had actually colored her to go with a different set of papers, had put her down on top of the TAC papers. She looked so perfect against the colors that I had to switch papers.
I covered her tail in Smooch. Love the subtle shine on there. Dotted her a few times with my white Sharpie Poster Pen-thanks, Kim! I created this sentiment off the computer.
We'd love for you to play along. Be sure to stick that birthday sentiment on the front of your summer card! Link it back up to the Party Time Tuesday blog. Make sure you peak at the other designers too! They all have some smashing summer creations!
Kristie lined up some fun party gals for the month of Aug. This week we have Colleen from A Cards Delight. She's got a great blog, with some fantastic cards! Make sure you pop over to see what she created for the party as well!

Thanks for stopping by!

Party Time Tuesday #7

It's Tuesday! And we know that means Birthday card for Party Time Tuesdays! Today is an anything goes challenge. So, easy to do, right? You know you have someone with a birthday coming up, so lets get the party started for them, and make them a card!
This cute cherry birthdaycard features a CC Designs stamp. I can't believe I haven't made a card with her yet. I mean, really, how cute is she? I had grabbed this cherry bling from Michaels, and thought it would go perfect with her cherry shirt. The red is a bit bright for my papers, but it's so cute, who would mind getting bling cherries?! I made the sentiment on the computer. I love that Tammi does that all the time, so I've had to branch out a little and try it too.
Be sure to check the Party Time Tuesdays Blog to see what the rest of the design team came up with, or feel free to click on their blogs listed to the right.
We'd love for you to play along! Just make a card, put that birthday sentiment on the front, and link it up to the Party Time Tuesday blog so we can come see what you made!
Thanks for stopping by.

Thank you and scrapbook page.

Today was a fun day. Went Strawberry picking for the first time ever with a friend. The kids had a blast. I'll have to make a scrapbook page with those photos later! Even had homemade strawberry ice cream while we were out there. Ate a ton of berries too!
Did some thank you cards for Teacher Appreciation this week. This one is for Trey's teacher.
She loves the color yellow. I normally struggle with that color, but man, I love this card! I think it turned out so cute! I use Basic Grey's Lemonade paper. I had picked up some new stamps recently from Hope Stamps Eternal and was excited to play with them! She had a sale going, so make sure you go peak it out if you haven't yet. I got the layout off Amy R's blog. Loved this layout. It's got layers, which I love, but was still good with being a little simple. So, I'll be using it again! I paper pieced her dress, and ribbons. I added some pretty bling to it. Love the red shoes. Reminds me of Dorothy! This set of stamps is so cute from The Greeting Farm. I'm dying to play with the rest of them still. The sentiment is from The Angel Company.
Took these photos of the kids at a new local park. It's a nice walk along some of our local creeks. It was a nice spring day. Snapped a few, against Gabi's wishes. Trey was very open to it, and was a good ham! Gabi had to be coxed into it, and urged to smile. I hope she's not reaching that age where it'll be harder to get good photos of her! I thought the CC Spring Fairies was a perfect match for the page. Love how this page turned out.

Fluttering By with CC Designs

Man, this was so much fun to make! Took me some time though. This is my first easel card, so Tammi wasn't the last person to try it! I some how thought my paper was 8.5, when it was 11 inches long, so you should have seen me at first watching the video on SCS. My base wasn't looking like Beate's and I couldn't figure out why!

I combined a lot of challenges on this card.

Pile It On Easel card
Stamp with Fun recipe card- three flowers, three papers, two buttons.
Crazy Challenge Angel or Fairies.
Crafty Creations Paper Piecing-my little fairy on the inside is paper pieced.
All That's Scraps shape card, I hope easel works for that challenge.
For Fun Challenges April Showers May Bring Flowers, Spring, rain, or flowers.
Fab N Funky Challenges Neapolitan Ice cream.

It was also a person challenge from my friend, Debbie, who sent me some supplies to use the next time I did a big challenge card. She sent ribbons, the heart gem, and the heart brad.

I saw the pearls lined up like that with a sentiment on Sparkle's blog, and thought it looked so pretty. So, I had to case that idea.

With the kids on Spring Break I also have been working on scrapbook pages. Trying to catch up some while the crafting bug has bitten me! I got done their Halloween pages last night. Posting them for family to see. Gabi was a pretty butterfly this year, and Trey was Jango Fett. All his little friends seemed to be that this year. This baseball page is so girly, which is funny to me. But Gabi's dance group dances to Put Me In Coach, and it's a dance routine. Seems ironic to make baseball girly. I'll make sure not to show Trey, as he'll think I committed a serious crime!
Supplies: Basic Grey Bittersweet, Rose Red, Creamy Caramel cardstock, close to cocoa ink, stickles, Martha punch, copics, SU felt flowers, CC Designs, TAC sentiment.

A Miracle and Simple Sympathy!

Wow! Finally a post from me! Who just fell off their chair?! Life has been, for lack of a better word, interesting since Jan 4th. I had a few new supplies come in last week, and couldn't wait to play with them. Always, Mojo Monday is a good starting point! Went there first thing this morning, and they had a fabulous sketch. Than, I peaked at Rachel's Cupcake Inspiration Challenge, and moved by the colors and flowers. I'm hoping to get back into the swing of things soon and start posting regularly again. I'm missing peaking at blogs, and doing challenges.

The image is CC Designs Spring Kit. So cute, if you haven't seen them yet. The new Basic Grey papers are so pretty too. And those prima flowers were at Michaels, so nice chance to try them out.

Supplies: PTI cardstock, copics, Basic Grey cardstock, primas, stickles, perfect plum ink, mellow moss ink, nesties.

A blessing for this card was my friend's Grandfather recovered after they went to say their goodbyes. I had left town with Gabi on a dance competition, and hadn't heard the good news. So, I made a card this morning, and turned out I didn't need it after all. Sympathy cards are hard for me. This one turned out nice and clean.

Supplies: TAC swirly stamps, PTI With Sympathy, Elegant eggplant cardstock, and ink.

So Not A Holiday Card.

Okay, well, this started as a holiday card for me for my regular Sunday Challenge on Sparkle's blog. Seems like Sunday's have been busy for the last few weeks, so I'm getting them done later in the week. Since it was a fairy image on my card, it was also my Flutterby Wed challenge card, which was to use a favorite quote. I love this quote in TAC's Dream set.
Mine and Paul's wedding theme was castles, so we had the song being sung by Cinderella "A Dream" when we entered our wedding reception. So, it has a special place for me when I see it because it makes me think of Paulie. However, that quote totally changed the direction of my card! It's so not a holiday card any more! Still so cute though!
Anyhow, this is my Cupcake Inspiration Card. I was moved by the blue and red in the cupcakes. Also, being balloons on the cupcakes, I had to have something in the sky. I don't have alot of things in the sky! Decided I want a Santa in a hot air balloon stamp.
This is also my Pile It On Challenge- Good things come in threes. Three pearls in a row, three types of glitter, three types of punches/nesties, three scrapping floss, three inks to make my sky behind my cute fairy.
Pink Elephant's sketch for the week.
Whimsy Stamp Challenge-Some Bling, I have glitter, pearls, and fun flock with glitter on my cloud.
Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge was to use pearls.

Supplies: Copics, Martha glitter, DCWV Christmas stack, Martha punch, scappers floss, TAC sentiment, PTI cardstocks, nesties, SU Baja blue, ballet blue, bordering blue inks.

CC Mojo Monday

I can't get a good photo of this card to save my life. I must have taken about 20 photos, and they just keep showing up blurry, or washed out. Not sure what's up with that! Anyhow, this is Mojo Monday's sketch Challenge. Was excited it was a long sketch. I don't do those too often. The paper is from TAC's Sands of Time. I love that it has so many colors to work with. The cardstock is from DCWV. I popped out the surfboard, hair and flip flops. I think this is such a cute image from CC Designs. I also used Amy R's Summer Sentiments. The felt flowers I found at Rachel Hope's store a few months back. Topped her off with some stickles. Other supplies: nesties, brads from Michael's, copics.
Thanks for stopping by.

Copics: skin-Eoo, Eooo, E11, E93 hair-E29, board-YR23, YG11, R85, clothes_BG49, R85, RV23, RV34.

Adorable Bikini Life

Had a few moments while Trey and Dad are at All Star practice. Grabbed a set I just had come in this week, Amy R's Beach sentiments, and one of the new CC stamps. I found this darling bag of cute bikini buttons, and had to grab them! How cute are the buttons?! Works so perfectly with my image! I found the paper at Michael's, but can't remember the name. I'm getting a little better with the angles. I wonder how people cut them. I taped it down, and than cut them. Not sure if that's the best way or not. Any tips on that? Since it was Amy R's sentiments, I did her sketch challenge.

Supplies: Nesties, stickles, gems from stash, copics, Old Olive cardstock.

Copics-hair E35, E33, skin-Eooo, E11, R20, Eoo, bathing suit-R17, Y38, YR23.

Circle yourself with the holidays!

For Sparkle's Christmas challenge this week, she challenged us to use circles on our card. I started thinking about this yesterday, and decided I wanted to try to make a circle card. I thought the largest scallop nestie would work well for the shape of the card. It worked great, but the card is a bit smaller than I expected, but I'm so pleased with the results. I than did the embossing with other nesties around the opening, and around the snowmen on the inside. I love how this turned out! It's not exactly how I envisioned, but I think it looks so stinking cute! I forgot before I took the photo, that I wanted to add fun flock to the sheep.
Supplies: TAC snowman nativity, nesties, stickles, shimmerz, stickers from Target, lyra water color crayons.

For my CC Design card, my friend Tammi sent me the image for my birthday. Gosh, such a fun image! Keep with the challenge of using circles, grabbed my CB folder, and some DCWV paper that had circles on it. I cut the image out, and put it in the circle. I love that look when people do that on cards, so I had to try it out. I love the bright colors of this card! For the brim on her hat, I used fun flock, with added glitter to it for a little more sparkle.

Supplies: CC Designs, PTI Pure Poppy cardstock, DCWV Christmas glitter slab, fun flock, stickles, SU pretty in pink, nesties.

Chilly day in VA

We've chilled at home today. Gabi's sick today. She's fighting a sinus infection, and DR said to keep her out of the cold. It's pretty chilly here this weekend. I love it that way, so I'm happy about the cold. But feel badly for the kids. Been to the DR too many times this month, and it's only half way done! Hopefully, she will feel better by tomorrow. On to crafting....

I had a cow I had already colored from TAC's Barn Yard Birthday but hadn't made it into a card yet. I tried a layout I haven't before, where the top of the image is peaking over the top of the card. I think this layout is way cute, and not sure why I haven't tried it before. I used DCWV glitter Sweet Stack. That stack has some way cute papers in there. Fans of cupcakes will be happy with it. I was happy with it, because it found it on clearance for half off! Love deals!
Supplies: TAC Barn Yard Birthday, sentiment retired from TAC, gems from Michaels, DCWV Sweet Glitter stack, DCWV cardstock, Nesties, stickles, lyra water color crayons, SU scallop punch, liquid pearls.
I have to say again, how much I love nesties. I think they are so easy to use with cutting sentiments out in great little sizes! I have so many more on my wish list, and I feel like I grabbed a lot when I got them for Christmas! I think I should feel guilty about that! But, man they make layering so nice and easy!

Than I placed an order at All That Scraps last week, and it arrived today. Grabbed some Gingersnaps stamps-can we say DARLING! Anyhow, I got the Valentine set, and love the little chickie sitting on the mushroom. I'm digging mushrooms lately. Anyways, I found this layout at Sketch Saturdays off a link on my friend Tammi's blog. I also saw a challenge today at Sugar Bowl to use three embellishments, and three different papers. It's hard to tell, but the pink under the fairy is the light pink paper in the Basic Grey Bittersweet pack, so there's three different papers on there. Oops! I think I went over on embellishments, because I have brads, stickles, gems, and flowers! Oh, well, it's still a stinking cute card! LOL! I cut out the section with her knees and mushroom top and popped them out.
Supplies: Nesties, CC Designs Hey Cupid, Bittersweet by Basic Grey, SU pretty in pink cardstock, primas, stickles, lyra water color crayons.
